How Healthy is Swimming?
Swimming is one of the healthiest sports ever. This is especially due to the specifics of water. Due to the buoyancy experienced by your body in the water, swimming is a particularly gentle form of exercising for the entire musculoskeletal system. Thus, swimming allows an intensive cardiovascular training, while tendons, ligaments and joints are less burdened than through sports ashore. The pressure that the water exerts on the body has positive effects, too. The venous function is assisted and the resistance against which the heart has to work increases. Last but not least, the water resistance makes swimming a particularly demanding sport, where you can burn many calories per unit of time.
